Jobzas ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our WhatsApp service, and any other part of the Jobzas platform ("the Platform"). We process all personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy should be read together with our POPIA Terms & Consent.
1. Information we collect
Job seekers (via WhatsApp): your name, cellphone number, a photograph of your South African ID, a photograph of your face, your residential area or shared location, your skills, work history, availability, expected pay, references, and the content of your messages with our service.
Employers (via the website): your name, email address, and. once employer accounts launch. your business details, job requirements, and search activity.
Everyone: if you contact us through our contact form or email, we keep a record of that correspondence. Our website uses only the technical data strictly necessary to function; we do not run advertising trackers.
2. How we use your information
- To create, verify, and display worker profiles to registered employers;
- To connect employers and workers when an employer chooses to make contact;
- To operate our AI-assisted profile-building service on WhatsApp. your messages are processed to build your profile and are not used for anything unrelated;
- To manage the employer waitlist and respond to enquiries;
- To keep the Platform secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. What we never do
- We never sell your personal information;
- We never charge a job seeker for the service or to access opportunities;
- We never display your ID document or ID number to employers or any other user;
- We never share your contact details with an employer until that employer takes a deliberate, recorded step to connect with you.
4. How we protect your information
Your information is stored on secure, access-controlled infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Identity documents are stored separately from profile data with restricted access. We use reputable service providers (for hosting, data storage, messaging, and AI processing) who are bound by contractual and legal obligations to safeguard your information. Where any service provider processes data outside South Africa, we ensure the protection meets the standard required by POPIA.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your profile is active or your enquiry is open. If your profile is inactive for an extended period, or you ask us to delete it, we remove your personal information from the Platform within a reasonable time, unless the law requires us to retain specific records.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you may at any time ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. Job seekers can simply message "DELETE" to our WhatsApp number to have their profile removed. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za or www.inforegulator.org.za.
7. Children
The Platform is for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of children, and any such profile discovered will be deleted.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with its date of update.
